Kaikki esteettömyyspassista / All about the accessibility badge

Esteettömyyspassi on jokaiselle, jolla saattaa olla erityisiä tarpeita tapahtuman aikana. Esimerkiksi:

• Jos sinulla on näkö-, tai kuulorajoitteita.
• Jos sinulla on liikkumisrajoitteita.
• Jos sinulla on krooninen sairaus, joka vaikuttaa toimintakykyysi (esimerkiksi, ettet jaksa seistä pitkään, sinun tarvitsee päästä nopeasti vessaan tai pyörtyilet helposti).
• Jos sinulla on aistiyliherkkyyttä, paniikkihäiriöalttiutta, epilepsia tai neurologinen sairaus, joka vaikuttaa toimintakykyysi.
• Jos sinulla on jokin muu erityistarve.

Esteettömyyspassia näyttämällä voit esimerkiksi:

• Edetä nopeammin tai istua jonossa, jos et kykene seisomaan pitkiä aikoja.
• Käyttää kaikkia hissejä.
• Kommunikoida tarpeistasi ilman, että joudut perustelemaan ja selittämään.
• Päästä saliohjelmassa esteettömille paikoille. Jos sinulla on esimerkiksi näkö-, tai liikkumisen rajoitteita, tai sinun pitää päästä poistumaan salista nopeasti, voit pyytää salin ovella esteetöntä paikkaa ja näyttää passia. Vapaaehtoiset ohjaavat sinut paikoille. HUOM! Näitä paikkoja ei voi varata etukäteen. Et tarvitse ohjelmaan paikkalippua, kun tulet esteettömyyspassilla esteettömille paikoille.

Lisäksi esteettömyyspassi auttaa muita toimimaan, jos saat sairaskohtauksen.

Halutessasi voit pitää passia esillä koko ajan, jolloin toiset tietävät sinulla olevan jotain erityistarpeita. Sen ei kuitenkaan tarvitse olla näkyvillä, vaan voit laittaa sen vaikka taskuun. Jos tarvitset esimerkiksi istumapaikkaa tai sinun täytyy päästä vessajonon ohi, voit näyttää passia ja pyytää toiselta kävijältä, että pääsisit istumaan tai ohi. Sinun ei tarvitse selittää, miksi.

Jos et pysty terveydellisistä syistä seisomaan jonossa esimerkiksi kirpputorille tai saliohjelmaan, voit mennä jonon ohi valvojan luokse, näyttää esteettömyyspassiasi ja pyytää päästä jonon ohi, koska et voi seistä. Kanssasi jonon ohi voi tulla avustaja tai esimerkiksi alaikäinen lapsi, mutta ei esimerkiksi kaveriporukka, jonka muilla jäsenillä ei ole erityistarpeita ja niin ikään passia. Huomaathan, että kirpputorille jonottaminen ja esteetön sisäänpääsy toimii kirpputorin aikataulujen rajoissa. Aikoina, jolloin kirpputorilla asioidaan varauksella, sinun tulee näyttää jonovalvojalle pääsylippu arvonnasta voittamallesi ajalle. Tämän jälkeen voit hyödyntää esteetöntä sisäänpääsyä.

Jos puhuminen muille kävijöille ahdistaa tai tarvitset jotakin erityistä apua, voit näyttää esteettömyyspassia jollekin tapahtuman vapaaehtoiselle ja kysyä häneltä apua. Vapaaehtoiset tunnistavat passin ja auttavat sinua.

Saliohjelmassa pääset esteettömille paikoille näyttämällä passia ovella ja kertomalla, millaisen paikan tarvitset.

Esteettömyyspassin saat Traconin infopisteeltä, joka sijaitsee Tampere-talon pääaulassa. Et tarvitse passia varten vammaiskorttia, sairastodistusta tai mitään muuta todistusta. Sinun ei tarvitse kertoa ollenkaan, miksi pyydät passia. Saat sen kysymällä.

Passin ei tarvitse olla koko ajan näkyvillä. Voit laittaa sen vaikka taskuun.

Esteettömyyspassin kannessa on kuva pyörätuolista. Voinko silti käyttää sitä, jos en käytä pyörätuolia?

• Kyllä voit. Pyörätuolisymboli on yleinen erityistarpeiden symboli, mutta se ei tarkoita, että passi kuuluu vain tuolia käyttäville.

Mitä jos joku kommentoi, kun skippaan jonoa tai käytän hissiä?

• Sinun ei tarvitse selittää. Voit sanoa lyhyesti ”Minun tarvitsee käyttää tätä/tehdä näin.” Jos tilanne ahdistaa, sinun ei tarvitse sanoa mitään, ja voit esimerkiksi pyytää jotakin tapahtuman vapaaehtoista tueksi. Esteettömyyspassi on tapahtuman oma tunnus, joka kaikkien kuuluu hyväksyä.

At Tracon we use an accessibility badge. But what is it and how do you use it?

An accessibility badge is a card that helps you communicate to others about any special needs. The badge is specific to Tracon and it was made to make communication and getting help easier during the event. We share badges at the event.

The badge is for anyone who might have special needs during the event. For example:

• If you have limitations or disabilities with moving.
• If you have limitations or disabilities with hearing or sight.
• If you have a chronic illness that affects your functioning (for example, you can’t stand for long periods of time or you might need to get to the toilet fast, or you might faint easily).
• If you have sensory defensiveness, panic disorder, epilepsy or a neurological condition that affects your functioning.
• If you have some other special needs.

By showing your badge you can

• Skip a queue or sit in the queue, if you are unable to stand for long periods of time.
• Use all the elevators.
• Communicate your needs without having to prove or explain them.
• Access the accessible seats in the event halls Iso Sali and Pieni Sali. If you have for example limitations with seeing, hearing or moving, or you might need to be able to leave the hall quickly, you can ask for an accessible seat at the door and show the badge. Tell the staff at the door what kind of seat you need and they will help you. Please note that these seats can’t be reserved prior. You do not need a ticket to the program in these halls if you have the accessibility badge.

The badge also helps others help if you experience health troubles.

If you want to, you can have the badge visible at all times to let others know you have some special needs. However, you don’t have to, you can also keep it in your bag or pocket. If you, for example, need a seat on a bench or to skip a queue if unable to stand, you can show the badge and ask another person to give you a seat or to let you pass. You do not need to explain why.

If you can’t stand for long periods of time due to health reasons and need to skip the queue, for example to the flea market or the event hall, you can go to the queue monitor, show your badge and ask to skip. They will help you. A personal assistant or an underage child can skip thw queue with you, but for example a group of friends cannot, if they don’t also have special needs and the badge. Please note that queuing to the flea market is dictated by its schedule: when the fleamarket is operating with reservations, you need to show the queue monitor the ticket you won from the raffle. Then you can skip the queue.

If talking to other people makes you anxious or you need some other kind of help, you can show your badge to any Tracon volunteer and ask for help. The volunteers recognize the badge and can help or point you in the right direction.

At the event hall doors you can show the badge to the monitor and tell what kind of seat you require.

You can get the badge from the Tracon info desk located in Tampere-talo main hall. You do not need a disability card or any health records, you do not need to tell the info why you want the badge. You’ll get it when you ask.

The badge doesn’t need to be visible all the time.

The badge has a picture of a wheelchair. Can I still use it if I don’t use a wheelchair?

• Yes you can. The wheelchair symbol is a common symbol for assorted special needs, and doesn’t mean the badge is only meant for some of them.

What if someone comments when I skip a queue or use a restricted elevator?

• You do not need to explain anything. You can simply say ”I need to this/use this.” If the situations makes you anxious, you don’t need to say anything. You can ask a volunteer for help. The accessibility badge is Tracon’s own official badge that everyone needs to respect.
